Xero-add-ons: Financial Driver joins the club.[/caption] Xero, once a tiny New Zealand start-up, has grown up to become a highly successful dual listed public company (Austrialia and New Zealand) with over 1000 employees globally. Much of their growth has been attributed to the ongoing addition of Xero add-ons to extend the services available to users. We are very excited to announce that Financial Driver has been approved as a Xero-add-on aimed at accountants in practice. The certified Financial Driver Xero add-on will be officially launched at the Xerocon UK  - the Xero UK user conference on the 10th and 11th of February 2015. What is Xero? Xero is cloud-based accounting software for small and medium-sized businesses They were one of the first companies to understand that there must be a better way of doing your books as a small or medium-sized business owner than labouring over frustrating Excel spreadsheets. Not only is accounting in the cloud a lot easier, but it is also a lot more fun! The company also recognizes problems associated with moving installed software from one box to another, causing endless frustration. They enabled business owners to do their accounts online and from mobile, saving them time and money. By the end of last year Xero had over 400,000 global users with 300 new customer sign-ups every day. During 2014 the business saw customers increase by 83% globally and 100% year on year in Australia. What is a Xero add-on? Xero created an app add-on marketplace, which allows third parties to develop apps that link to its software via their API, offering clients many more functions. There are over 350 add-ons to date with new ones being launched on an ongoing basis and we’re delighted to have been accepted as a Xero add-on this year. What will the Financial Driver Xero add-on do? Our add-on will officially be launched at the Xerocon UK conference in February and we wouldn’t like to steal our own thunder, however what we can say at this stage is that our add-on is aimed at accountants in practice who want to extend their core offerings to clients – to include a financial advisory service. The product will help accountants by enabling easy and quick comparative reporting and simplifying the process of building budgets and revised forecasts for clients. In our next blog Financial Driver product manager Gill Goddard will explain exactly how the Financial Driver Xero add-on works. To find out more about the Xero/FD integration - click here. Meanwhile, we are looking for any UK accountants in practice looking at extending their client offerings this year, who would like to beta-test our Xero add-on before February.
